YaYa, the gaint panda that spent 20 years in the U.S, returned to her birthplace the Beijing zoo on Monday. This came after she completed one month of quarantine in Shanghai where she was cared for by Specialists from the zoo. For months, YaYa’s well-being has been closely followed by Panda lovers and now that she’s safely back home, many visitors gathered at the zoo, hoping to see her amongst other pandas. The Beijing Zoo says that YaYa is in stable health in anticipation of her homecoming. The zoo has not only prepared a special feeding area but also developed a tailored medical and nutritional program for her. For 22-year-old YaYa, however, giving her time to adjust to her new home is the number one priority, so she won’t be on display at the moment. Nonetheless, the people I talked to said that as long as YaYa lives healthily, it doesn’t matter whether she meets the public.

2009年11月1日，陕西省秦岭大熊猫繁殖研究中心的工作人员在佛坪县的深山里救治了一只被遗弃的大熊猫雄性幼仔。当时，它的身体虛弱，奄奄一息。令工作人员大吃一惊的是，这个小家伙居然是一只带颜色的棕色大熊猫，而它的母亲却是一只正常的黑白色大熊猫，这是一种奇特的返祖现象，它也是世界上现存的唯一一只棕色大熊猫。在工作人员的悉心照料下，小家伙逐渐恢复了健康。因为它的与众不同，和电影《长江七号》 中的小怪兽七仔相似，便给它取名为“七仔”。
